General Notes: Adam and his wife Mary emigrated to America as newly-weds in 1840 and settled on a farm on the Loyalsock Creek. He taught German school and was a shoemaker, going from house to house making shoes, staying in one home until all the shoes for the family were made. After fourteen years they moved to Pine Run (1854) where he continued to farm.
