Where Is The Corn?

Genesis 42:1 Now when Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, Jacob said unto his sons, Why do ye look one upon another?
2 And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die.

In verse one, it said, when Jacob saw and verse two, Jacob said," I have heard." So, we find out that Jacob saw by hearing. Before he ever received the corn, he saw it by hearing. So is it with us is this day. Before we receive anything from our God, we must see it by hearing.

Look at Job 42:5. "I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye seeth Thee." Let me say this, I do not believe that God came down in a body and spoke words which Job heard, nor did God show Job a body which he saw with his eyes. I believe that after Job heard of God, then his eyes came open to see or understand God.

Also notice Genesis 1:3 "And God said (word). Let there be light: and there was light: (seeing).

Now, one more Scripture: Romans 10:17, "So then faith (seeing) cometh by hearing, (ear), and hearing by the Word of God."

When Jacob saw by hearing that there was corn in Egypt, he acted upon what he saw to get what he needed.

Notice what Jacob saw. He had a need for corn and what he saw was the PLACE where the corn was.

Seeing where his need was, he sent his son's to THAT place. He knew it would do no good to send His sons to any other place than to Egypt.

It is the same way in this day in which we are living. First we must see by hearing the Word of God where out needs are at. And until we do see by hearing, there is no way for us to receive.

Notice, in the days of Jacob, there may have been corn in other countries, but for him, there was corn only in Egypt. In the Word of God, there are several places where we find Divine Healing. Jairus saw the healing of his daughter in the "laying on of hands". Matthew 9:19; 19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples."

The woman with the issue of blood saw her healing in "The hem of his garment",

Matthew 9:20-21; "And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

21: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole."

The Roman Centurion saw the healing of his servant in "Speak the word only" in Luke 7:7; "Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed."

Many saw healing in "The shadow of Peter" in Acts 5:15; "Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them."

As we can see, there is Divine healing in many different places in the Word of God, but until the Word of God is spoken to your heart and you can see your need, you will never receive it.

This is the first thing which must happen, we must see by hearing where our needs are at. The second thing, we must get to THAT place. No other place will work. When the Word of God has been spoken to your heart, that and only that will work for you.

Remember Naaman in II Kings 5:1-14; "Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.
2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.
3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.
5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.
7 And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.
8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.
9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.
10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.
11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

The spoken word was "dip seven times in the River Jordan." There was no healing in any other river for Naaman.

I remember a man one time who was dying with cancer to whom my Lord sent me. I went to this man and told him that my God had sent me there with his healing. This man told me that he had cancer before a certain well known man had prayed for his healing and he had been healed and that he was going to return to that man again.

I left and told a good friend if mine that the man would die, and he did die a short time later. See, this man tried to keep receiving from the same source and our God does not always place all our needs in the same place. Many times God places our needs in different places, and He does not always place everyone's needs in the same place.

Charles Spurgeon looked in many scriptures, looking for salvation, but when he found it, he found it in Isaiah 45:22; "Look unto me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else." Many others have looked to that scripture in vain seeking salvation, and then find their salvation in another scripture.

What I am saying is this; If you don't see your needs in one scripture, go on to another. Don't give up. But don't try to get something from it that you don't see. Just keep looking till you do see your needs in THAT place and than let nothing stop you from getting to that place.
