In Time Of Trouble,
Give.

Luke 6:38: "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."

Today, Sunday, July 19, 1998, My beloved wife, Eileen could not come to the "House of God" due to having two strokes over the past week so some of us took the "Church" To her.

In these past days of deep need and terrible trouble, praying and seeking God for my Beloved wife, the only Scripture which kept coming to me was the above.

My question was, "In our great hour of need: How can we give?" We have nothing to give. God, why would you want us to give now? What can we give, any of us?

My thought were then carried to St. John 4:1-7;

4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

4 And he must needs go through Samaria.

5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

There was a little lady living in that town who had a need for water, and Notice, BEFORE she got the water, she was asked to give. What was she asked to give? She was asked to give the very thing which she had need of, WATER!!! Notice, she was not asked for that which she did not need.

Most of us are so willing to give that which we do not need, but Christ asked for that which we DO need.

So, What can we give? Well, what do we need? First, we need the blessings of our God even more than we need the healing of my beloved wife.

At this point I want to insert something that happened right after our little service. This little nurse came in to take care of Eileen. Knowing that we have need of the blessings of our God, before this little nurse left the room, we took her by the hand and asked our God to bless her for taking care of my wife. Of course this brought a smile to her face and tears to her eyes.

Another great need that we have is the prayers of God’s people, therefore, we are spending much time praying for other that our God will lead others to pray for our needs.

What else do we have need of at this time? Well, we dearly need the healing of my Beloved wife. So, what are we doing? We are seeking for those who have need of healing, whether it be for body, soul or spirit. My beloved wife is watching those in the hospital around her, patient or nurse or visitor to see if there are any that she may seeking healing for.

What is another thing that we have need of? We need transportation so we are praying for other that we know that have that same need. Also if we find any who need a lift, we try to help them get it.

Another thing we need very badly is finances, therefore, we are seeking our God to show us those that He would have us to help in the way of finances.

It is so easy for us to spend our time asking our God for our needs but He desires us to give to Him, and the only way we can do this is to give to His people those things which we have need of. Pray for us that we may be faithful to our God in doing this.

We pray that this little message for my wife’s hospital room may be a great blessing to all who read.

A Message From Eileen

It is my whole desire that the Will of my Heavenly Father may be done in this my illness. I greatly desire to be, not a burden, but rather a blessing to all those around me. I desire much more to be a blessing to my Brothers and Sisters in Christ than I desire to be healed. I do desire to be healed but if I can help my god’s people more the way I am, then, it is my desire to remain the way I am. If there is any way that I may help or be a blessing to you, PLEASE let it be known as this is my life. I truly Thank my Heavenly Father for all those who has shown such love for me. Please know that as I lay here in this bed, my prayers are going up to my Heavenly Father for YOU that you and I together may be complete in Him whom I love with all my heart. I thank and bless my God for each and every one of you. I love you. God bless you. Eileen.
