Pain Pills

Mark 8:22: And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.

23 "And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.

24 "And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.

25 "After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

Many times while ministering to the sick throughout the country, I have often heard this statement, "Brother, I have already been prayed for." I ask, "Then you don't want me or any one else to pray for you?" We are then told..."Oh, Brother, it isn't that."

"Then what is it?" I ask. They say something like this... "Well, if I am prayed for again, it shows that I don't have faith or that I didn't really believe and I do so want to believe."

First of all, let me say that asking for prayer more than once does not show a lack of faith in any way. There are some who do not understand healing. Healing is not the same as a miracle, it does not happen "at once". Healing is a process. It takes time. Sometimes more sometimes less, but it does take time.

Let's say that cancer begins to develop in your body, but you don't know that it is cancer. All you know is that you begin to have pain. But, not much at first, but pain. What is one of the first things you will do? Why, take a pain pill. Does this pain pill get rid of the cancer? By no means. But, it did most likely stop the pain, at least for a time.

Now, we are going to call this cancer Satan.

When you took the pain pill, what happened? The pain pill stopped the pain, but the cancer is still growing. In other words, the pain pill stopped the pain while Satan is still doing his work of destroying you.

As long as we continue to take those pain pills and they continue to stop the pain, we fail to realize that Satan is at workdestroying us.

As this cancer continues to grow, the pain pill does less and less in stopping the pain till we finally go to the doctor and he tells us we have cancer.

OK, so the doctor takes you to the operating room and cuts the cancer out. At this time we should feel no pain whatsoever. Why? Because the doctor had you put to sleep.

As you begin to come out of this sleep, you find that you are hurting MORE than you ever hurt before the cancer was cut out.

The nurse asked if you would like a pain pill. Do you refuse it? Surely not. Does taking this pain pill prove that the doctor didn't do his job and the cancer is still there? Of course not!!! In fact, this pain is the best evidence that you could have that the doctor did indeed do his job.

Notice, before the operation, the pain pill stopped the pain while the work of destruction was taking place. After the operation, the pain pill stops the pain while the healing takes place.

Notice this also. Before the operation, as the cancer was growing, the pain pills did less and less good, and more and more pain pills were needed.

After the operation, as the healing is taking place, the pain pills do more and more good, and less and less are needed.

Now, what happens if this person with the cancer is prayed for? Well, the life goes out of the cancer, but the body of the cancer is still there.

Now, as the body begins to heal after the operation (death of the cancer) we will most likely begin to hurt even more than we did before we were prayed for in the first place. Most of the time, this happens two or three days after we are prayed for.

Again, does this mean that the work has not been done, and the cancer is still alive? No! No way!! Again, it is the best proof that the work has been done!

Just as in the case of the doctor, when we began to wake up, one of the first things we ask for is a pain pill, so we may (and most likely will) need prayer several times before the healing is complete.

It is a foolish person who can come out of the operation room and refuse to take pain pill while his body is wracked with pain. As long as the pain is there, take the pain pills.

The same thing should be true of that person who has been prayed for. As long as the pain is still there, receive all the prayers (pain pills) you can.PLEASE DON'T TRY TO DENY THE PAIN. THAT IS NOT FAITH. (JUST TAKE THE PAIN PILL!)
