This is a privately owned park of 48 acres, with trails through pristine desert and specially cultivated native wildflower gardens and riparian areas. Docents provide guided walks discussing the native plants and animals. Our group of homeschoolers divided into two groups, of older and younger children. I was pleased to hear that apparantly the kids in our group (the younger one) had been listening closely on the edible/medicinal plant walk, across town two weeks before, because they were able to occasionally elaborate a bit on what the docent was telling them. She now knows that not only is the Creosote bush the Indian "medicine cabinet", but that the flowers are edible too.
