This lighthouse was built in 1906, and contains the only hyperradiant lens in the US. It is the largest lens ever produced. The short tower (only 46 feet) is positioned atop a bluff, placing the height of the focal plane at 420 feet! This photograph was made in the summer of 1985.

The light is still working, and is operated by the US Coast Guard.
