The GSDCQC was established in 1976 to meet the needs of the German Shepherd Dog owners of the Iowa and Illinois "Quad Cities" area. A local breed club, its purpose is to promote the health and welfare of the German Shepherd. The members of the GSDCQC are active in conformation showing, obedience competition, tracking, herding, agility, and schutzhund, as well as many "comunity service" activities.

A schutzhund dog goes over the 6 foot high inclined wall on his way to retrieve a dumbell. He will return over the wall with the dumbell and present it to his handler. The inclined wall is used in SchH2 and SchH3 exercises, one of three retrives the dog must make on command. (Al Govednik's "Bullet" SchH3 FH2 IPO3 TD)

An "Open" obedience competitor at our Annual Specialty Show goes over the jump on her way to retrieve the dumbell. She returns over the jump with the dumbell and presents it to her handler.

One of the GSD's most important roles is that of "companion", here "Kindl" watches TV with her young mistress. ( Breeder: Jan Gritton )
