Graiff Family Photos
Germano Emanuele Graiff
They called him 'Manny' after he immigrated.  It is not clear whether Manny was the  nickname for Germano or for Emanuele, however either would fit.
Manny was born September 2, 1882 in Romeno.
He immigrated to the USA and lived with his brother, Virginio and cousin Germano in Leadville, Colorado.  He worked in the gold mines in Leadville and later lived for a time in Alaska.
Manny never married, but he was remembered by his young niece Evelyn as her favorite uncle.
The gold mining apparently contributed to his early death on September 9, 1918 at the age of 36.
He is buried in the cemetary at Pocatello, Idaho.  This was the larger town near the home of his brother in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho.
His photograph bears resemblence to the son of his young niece.
