NUIRT/NYART - I am looking for information on Jacob NUIRT(NYART) and wife Catherine. I have wills for Jacob and Catherine recorded in Charleston Co. on 2-12-1800 for Jacob and recorded on October 30, 1801 for Catherine. They had 2 daughter Catherine and Susannah. Catherine married __BERRYand Susannah married __WESTNER. The BERRY that Catherine married is my ggggrandfather, but I am unable to find his given name. They had one child, Alexander BERRY born 1797. There was an Alexander BERRY in Charleston that had a shop at 35 King St. in The 1796 city directories and he was listed as shoemaker. I have been unable to find a connection between the two Alexander BERRYs, but it seems they must be father and son. The father of Alexander born in 1797 must have passed away soon after his son was born. Alexander son of Catherine Nuirt And unknown BERRY is mentioned in the will of Jacob NUIRT. PAGE - Seeking researchers who are working on the PAGE lines of Dorchester and Charleston Counties of S.C. I have a Columbus Owen PAGE (also known as C.O., Owen and Odie) b. 1869 in NC (error on death certificate states 1868) and died 1942 and was buried in Summerville, SC at the Zion Baptist Church. He was never married. He also had a brother who lived near him much of the time named John Richard PAGE. He was living in Givlians, SC and had resided in McClellanville at one point. He was also born in NC 1866 and died 1932. Birth was listed wrong as well on his death certificate as 1864. Married to Florence SCOTT last who was his 3rd marriage. Why were the births wrong? The names of the parents were wrong on C.O.'s not even knowing the mother's name. Same with John. The children apparently didn't know who their grandparents were who gave the info. The wedding reception card lists Richard's uncle J.T. WILLIAMS ( who also worked for the railroad I think) as hosting the event which was held at 147 Grand Street Charleston. Richard worked for the B& O Railroad as a valet to the President of B&O until his death in 1912. Richard and Anna moved to NJ about 1897 and had 3 children.
