Have you searched the NET and found some spots (like a.r.m.) just
to
be disappointed to find that decent LDS cannot carry on discussions
without being bombarded with rude and sometimes tasteless mail from
apostates and anti-Mormons of all sorts?
The place to gather is not a newsgroup, but a Mailing List!! A
Mailing List for "MORMONS-ONLY", one that has selective membership and
is MODERATED to filter OUT the things we don't need or want.
MORMONS-ONLY was organized in February 1996 and now has membership
in
every inhabited continent and many of the isles of the sea.
We realize you may already be on one or more mailing lists but invite
you to join us IN ADDITION to your other lists. We will try to avoid
overflowing your mailbox!
Mormons-Only is operated by Philip L. Musgrave as a non-profit
service. Brother Musgrave is a member of the Kailua 3rd Ward High
Priests Group, Kailua 3rd Ward, Kaneohe Hawaii Stake (for those who
wish to check up on people).
Mormons-Only is a forum for members, friends and investigators of
The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to assist one another in
lesson and talk preparation, exchange testimonies, share faith
promoting stories, and get to know each other over the Net - sort of a
chaperoned LDS social center on the Net!
As mentioned, Mormons-Only is moderated... every message is carefully
reviewed before being sent to the list. Only LDS-Friendly messages
are allowed, though we do occasionally have a topic that causes some
mild disagreement. Most members share conversion stories, personal
testimonies, ancestors' journal entries, favorite scriptures, who's
having new babies, etc. etc..
You can easily join the MORMONS-ONLY Mailing List and participate
in
the kind of discussions you might find at a Ward Social, or in the
hallway after Church.
(Click on SUBSCRIBE
button on Home Page)
Subscriptions are automatic. This list is Moderated, all messages
are sent to MORMONS-ONLY@onelist.com. Due to the nature of this
list, a confirmation of your subscription may take up to an hour, depending
on where you are
located and on server functionality!
If a message meets Church standards it will be posted to the
main list, if not, it will be deleted. If you do not see your message
hit the list in 24-36 hours you may asssume it was not acceptable. When
time permits, the moderator will personally notify subscribers of messages
that were deleted, but this cannot be guaranteed.
