or what the heck do they mean by that ?

Top Dog
It has always been believed that the dog
is man's best friend.
So if he calls you his Top Dog~ it must mean
you have a very lofty position with him.
but use his remote and you will be his underdog....

Sick as A Dog

Has your dog ever told you how he feels ?
understanding your dog may be a little "Ruff"...
 

Raining Cats and Dogs
come on get real...when was the last time you got wet
by a drizzling poodle....
 


Cat Got Your Tongue ?
I guess it's based on the fact that cats are
generally quiet...
until you go to bed and get real comfy
 

Cart before The Horse
I guess it was meant for those few people
out there who tend to  do everything backwards
Or is it because Men have to be pushed to get going....
 


Holy Cow
Started in the 1940's and considered
blasphemous ~ Along  with
Holy Smoke, Holy Mackerel, Holy Moses
Only used today by nuns and the Osmonds
 



Kill Two Birds with One Stone
I have yet to see anyone really do that
and why would anyone want to ?
 


Sitting Duck
This expression began in the south in the 1800's
Shotgun laws made it illegal to shoot a sitting duck.
So if you are a duck sit still....
you won't get shot...
 

Spring Chicken
It started in  South Carolina in the 1800's
based on the fact that all chickens were hatched
in the spring...
so that must mean when someone says "I ain't no spring chicken"
they were never hatched ??
 

Lay An Egg
When someone tells a bad joke we hear
"He laid an egg"
I look for that egg but never see it...
wonder what color it is ??
 


Tie The Knot
for some reason that knot turns into a noose....
 


Crazy As A Loon
The Loons' call sounds like a madman's laugh
so if you laugh out loud you are crazy ??
 

By The skin Of Your Teeth
I don't know about you, but I never, ever had skin on my teeth..
 


Quick As A Rabbit
does it refer to a rabbit's  running ability
or reproductive talents ???
 

Drunk As A Skunk
if I smelled like that, I would drink too....
 

Busy As A Bee
who wouldn't  like to go from honey pot to honey pot all day ?



Timid as a Mouse
Timid means quiet...have you ever had one between your walls ?
 
 


In A Pickle
usually described as an uncomfortable  situation ~
