A few encouraging words from Courage to Heal book:
I feel very lonely and isolated. I've always had so much to say, and I've never said it. What's hindered me the most is being so skilled at being silent. Incest has had so much to do with being silenced and silencing myself.

I feel like this sometimes and thought that maybe some other people can relate to it also. It encourages me to open up, there is always someone there who wants to listen.

My Personal Thoughts:
Have you ever wondered why a baby sleeps so soundly? Maybe because they have all the security it needs. Now slam the door shut, the baby awakes, crying. The security is gone, what now? The baby's sleep has suddenly ended, just like my life, will the baby ever sleep soundly again? Will I? Will my security come back, maybe with time. New places and new faces.
My security has returned. I can now sleep soundly again and feel safe. It came back in the form of my friends and boyfriend. I have achieved a new place in this world, one of comfort. It is possible to get it all back, I am a survivor. Thanks for your help, you know who you are. I wouldn't be here without you, and I love you for it.

We Are Not Alone
Many times I sit and wonder, I feel so alone. Then I remember there are others out there who share my feelings, know my fears, have experienced my lost. I also know there are others who wake up every morning and think noone else could understand what they feel. I want to remind those people we are not alone.
We are here to stand together and fight our battle. I stand for you and you stand for me. We are not alone. We are here to rely on each other to lean on and support. This helps me make it through my day, just knowing we are not alone.
Take a moment to reflect on your life, find one moment when you were truely happy. Live in that moment for at least five minutes. After you do this for a while you will find your happy times begin to expand. Have a good flashback.

The Wounded Spirit

Recently I was reading a book called The Wounded Spirit and this is a terrific book for those who feel wounded and mistreated to read. It helps you to realize why some people do the things that they do sometimes. There is a section of the book where the author talks about forgiving those who were mean to him and treated him bad, in this it talks about reasons to forgive and I found alot of truth in what the author was saying. He was speaking about you should forgive because God forgives and you are supposed to be like him. Also it eases the burden of your heart, you would not have to walk around with the heavy feelings inside of you about what happened, it lessens the load when you forgive and the abuser knows. I believe this because I have done it- read more about my exploration of forgiveness in my story update.
