The Revolutionary Patriot, WILLIAM CAUTHEN
William died in 1836 at the age of seventy-six years of age. He left no will and his son, Wm. Buck Cauthen, and his son-in-law, Michael Johnson, became administrators of his estate. Six children had moved to Georgia and Alabama; one of them had died in Georgia leaving two small children. In order for the land of William to be sold, the court advertised in the Camden, SC newspaper nitifying the heirs, especially those out of the state, that the land would be sold unless they appeared and objected. the Camden Jorunal, issue of November 12, 1836, a copy of which is preserved in the "Caroliniana Library," in Columbia, SC.
