FIFTH GENERATION

18. John S. KEITH (18)(19) was born on 22 Aug 1793 in Columbia County, Georgia. He died in Oct 1858 in Randolph County, Arkansas.(20) (21) At this time we do not have absolute proof that John Keith was Pinckney's father. However, all indications are that he was. John was an active land trader in Meriwether County, Georgia and according to land deeds on file his last actual presence in that county is indicated only as late as March of 1845.
The 1850 Cannon County, Tennessee census list J.S. Keith, Penny Keith and Pinky Keith. It has Pinckney as being age 4, and born in South Carolina. We know from her headstone that she was born in 1846.
In 1851 John and his family moved to Randolph County, Arkansas. This is proven by tax records for that county and also his land in Tennessee was sold that year by his son James J. Keith.
On March 10, 1852 John made out a Deed of Trust in which he gave "the right and title of certain personnal property to the benefit of Pinckney P. K. Harrison a minor under the age of twenty one years for and in consideration of Natural love and affection which I have and bear unto the said Pinckney P. K. Harrison"...
In 1864 Pinckney married William B. Thannisch and the marriage records show her maiden name as Keith. He was married to Penelope (Penny) JETER on 23 May 1852 in Ripley County, Missouri.

19. Penelope (Penny) JETER(11) (22) was born in 1805 in South Carolina. (11)(19) She died on 8 Dec 1864 in Randolph County, Arkansas. Children were:
