Rabbits

I've decided that I want a new look to this page. From now on, it will be a page on how to care for and train your rabbit! I hope you like it =) All of the information I am listing is from a book I own, "Hop To It-a guide to training your pet rabbit" by Samantha Hunter. It's a very informative book. Check it out at the library sometime!

Recommended Handling:
the proper way of picking up a rabbit is the same as a kitten-by the scruff of the neck over the shoulder blades and between the ears. NEVER EVER PICK UP YOUR RABBIT BY IT'S EARS! This could seriously harm your rabbit.
1. Bend over and grip the loose skin at the scruff of the neck between the ears firmly in your fist, not between your fingers.
2. Lift the rabbit while rising to an upright position
3. As quickly as possible, cradle its rump with your other hand in the "recommended position" (the rump in the palm of your hand and its head at the crook of your elbow.)

Bunny Air-O-Bics:
Rainbow leaps:jumps with high arcs over low tables
Half gainers:horizontal leaps at high speeds while twisting the rump
Helicopter leaps:jumps straight up with a 190 degree turn in the air.
Sidewinders:low jumps straight up and sideways, both at the same time. Usually followed by the "racing superstar".
Racing Superstar:a high speed run with occasional crashes into walls, the fridge, and other furniture.
Speed burrows:a dive-and-run combo behind furniture with a speedy backup.
El floppo:sudden flops on their sides against walls or furniture.
El Stretcho:a different version of el floppo. They stretch out their back legs as far as they can go and cross their front paws.

This is my friend deertree's rabbit, cabbie. She is a Castor Rex rabbit.
