Hmmm...well glad you asked, my friend. A wherry is a large flying bird that resides on the mythical planet Pern (copyright Anne McCaffrey.) They can be somewhat troublesome and are considered scavengers by a lot of people. But I have heard that when roasted, they make a delectable feast! j/k. But I really don't know what they look like, I've just seen pictures like in "Dragonriders of Pern". So here are a few pictures of some. These wherries are free for the taking.
