The SO Support Forum

General-Agreement-For-Posting

Prior to posting in the SO Support Forum, please signify whether or not you are willing to abide by terms listed in this General Agreement For Posting.  You can signify this by clicking on the appropriate button at the bottom of this page.

  1. Age Requirements for Forum Observing:  I understand that if I am younger than 18 years old, I am welcome to observe the SO Support Forum, but not to post there.
  2. Age Requirements for Forum Posting:  If I intend to do any posting, I understand that I must be at least 18 years old or older.
  3. Posting Requirements for Non-SO's:  I understand that this forum is intended primarily as a place for SO's to discuss how best to deal with infantilism as it may impact or affect their lives. Accordingly, I understand that while relevent posts by Non-SO's are also welcome, still, in addition to agreeing to all of the terms of agreement of this page, more stringent requirements for posting by Non-SO's are required for this Forum.  Such more stringent posting requirements for Non-SO's have been put in place on this site due to the perceived need to act decisively to keep this Forum reserved primarily for SO discussions. The rationale for these non-SO posting requirements can be found at the Rationale for Non-SO Posting Requirements page.  All Non-SO's must first receive an approval for the subject matter they wish to discuss by one of the regular SO's in The SO Support Forum prior to additional posts, as per the Request Form for Approval for Posting Privileges for Non SO. This approval will act as a sort of a posting-pass good for 14 days.
  4. Posts Made on a First Name Basis:  I understand that my participation in the SO Support Forum is to be on a first name basis only (initials of last names may be given occasionally when needed to avoid confusion.)
  5. Spam Posts Not Allowed:  I agree not to use this site for any types of advertising, spamming, or commercial purposes.
  6. Forum Topics Directly Related to Infantilism:  I agree to enter the forum with the primary aim of working with and on issues directly related to the presence of infantilism within my SO, and how better deal with its presence in my relationship with him (or her).
  7. Honesty and Frankness Required in Posts:  I agree to be honest about myself while in the Forum.  I understand that the Forum is a place to come to a better understanding of the reality of my situation and nothing less.  Posters who may resort to fantasy without first duly identifying it as such, or who may wish to use this Forum as a means to pursue such fantasies, may be asked to refrain from further posting in this Forum.
  8. This Forum Takes a Primarily Rational and Practical Approach to Solutions: I understand that this Forum is meant to provide an atmosphere based on rationality, mutual respect and open-mindedness.  While discussions of such intangible qualities as Faith, Hope, and Love, are also welcome, they are welcome only in as much as they might actually serve to promote these very qualities, rather than to cause divisiveness within the Forum.  I recognize that there are certain inherent difficulties that must be overcome when attempting to use our very limited and tangible human languages to define the properties of such real but intangible qualities.  Recognizing these inherent difficulties, I agree to do my best to be fully sensitive to the possibility that any such discussions within the framework of this Forum, about any such intangible qualities may sometimes prove to be in bad taste, or to be offensive to other Forum participants.  I further agree that should I be asked to move any such conversation regarding such intangible qualities that is beginning to prove more divisive than healing, to another more suitable place, then I will gladly do so.  One more suitable place for such a topic might be via a private email correspondence.
  9. Flaming Attacks Not Welcomed Here:  I understand that if I might tend to consistently and regularly prefer to resort to personal attacks against individuals instead of first always trying to use a logical analysis of the discussion at hand to clarify my own views, should my logic not seem to be prevailing, then I may be asked to refrain from such types argumentation in this Forum (called "flaming attacks" in netspeak).
  10. Forum Sysops Reserve the Ultimate Power (Hah!):  I understand that should I be found by either of the the forum sysops to post in a manner which disregards these rules, the forum sysops reserve the right to delete any such posts from the forum, and/ or (in extreme cases only) to block me either temporarily or permanently from entering posts onto the forum.
