BENJAMIN W. TILFORD, physician and druggist, was born in this town November
8, 1859, where he was reared and attended the high school.  In 1878, he
began the study of medicine under his father's instruction;  also attended
lectures at the Indian Medical College at Indianapolis in 1879 and 1880;
graduated in March, 1881;  came home to Martinsville, and in the autumn
engaged in the drug trade.  He has a $2,000 stock, and has done a
satisfactory business.
