BAKER, GEORGE W., educator, clergyman, was born Dec.
14, 1857, near Central Academy, Miss. For fourteen years he
was engaged in educational work; was licensed to preach in
the methodist episcopal church in 1887; was admitted to the
annual conference at Grenada in 1896; and was ordained Jan.
17, 1897.  He has since served in the Corinth circuit, with great
success.
