BAKER, LUCIEN, lawyer, congressman, was born in 1846
in Ohio. Shortly after he removed with his parents to Michigan,
but in 1869 he removed to Kansas and settled in Leavenworth,
where he has since resided, engaged in the practice of law.
He was elected to the United States senate as a republican
in 1895. His term of service will expire March 3, 1901.
