Terry's 3M's: Meditations, Mutterings, Madness

November 16, 1997

My bedroom is usually a disaster area. But it suits me and it suits the kids as well.

Because I need to be available in case of bad dreams, upset tummies in the middle of the night, and similar eventualities that occur when you have kids, I don't lock my bedroom door at night.

Thursday morning I awoke to find Bryan in my bed. Voyager was a 2 part episode and I had taped part 2 the night before. He wanted to see it very badly, so, he came into my room, put the tape in the VCR and crawled into bed with me to watch it.

Bryan slept over at someone else's house Saturday night. I let the girls and John watch TV in my room and then I carried him into his own room and put him to bed after he fell asleep.

At about 4:30 this morning, he was back in my room, asking if he could sleep in my bed. I'm just an old softie, so I said yes. But, we were both wide awake before 7.

One of the things that takes up space in my room is a 4 cup Mr. Coffee machine with all the accoutraments: cups, spoons, instant coffee, iced tea mix that I use to make hot tea, sugar, tea, herbal tea, green tea, coffee filters, Sugar Twin and creamers.

We had a comfy, cozy morning. I made us some hot tea and we sat in bed sipping tea and Johnny ogled the Disney catalog from cover to cover while I finished reading Death of a Prankster.

It was fun to watch him catch on to reading the prices of the things that he liked in the catalog. He decided that $58 was too much to pay for a comforter for his bed and "Wow! This costs $250 and I don't even like it!" was a comment about a watch.

It was a nice morning.
