Happy First Anniversary to LOTH!
I am amazed at the webpresence of this young organization of which I am proud to be a member.
A while back, I had addressed the fact that someone had used LOTH in a somewhat negative fashion in one of the the mailing lists that I belong to. Now, I'm thinking, "Wow!" LOTH was less than a year old, but, still the writer wrote what he wrote assuming that everyone knew that LOTH was Ladies-of-the-Heart.
Considering how large the world-wide web is, it's amazing that this organization has gotten to be so well known in such a short period of time.
Ladies-of-the-Heart is composed of many women who have a common agenda--to make the world (both the real world and the internet world) a better place. Members, as individuals, are notified of a need and act on that notification. Sometimes it's prayers that are needed, sometimes it's e-mails or letters of protest that are needed. Once in a while there is a request for monetary assistence. On other occasions, a web page might be put up to give information about a cause.
The world wide web was founded as a means of communicating information. That's exactly what these women do--inform each other of individual needs and inform others about issues and causes that affect the internet community and the world around them.
I have to cut this short today. The computer is acting up. It is protesting at the thought of having more than one application open and it's running extremely slow.
