Terry's 3M's: Meditations, Mutterings, Madness

Terry's 3M's

June 12, 1998

This is the most unusual June for Las Vegas. I don't think that I've ever seen it as cool as this in the past 20 years. Usually the hot weather starts sometime in April, then it cools for a week or so, then gets hot again...kind of like Indian Summer in reverse. But by the end of May the weather is hot and kids are protesting vehemently if they are told they can't wear shorts to school. Then it stays in the 90's for a couple of weeks before creeping up to 100 or above. And the nights are hot--cooling down to the high 80's. For it to be in the low 70's in June is very unusual.

But, I'm just noticing it. I most certainly am not complaining. I love this change in the weather pattern. And the rain that has been off and on for the few days is so pleasant.

We've had a houseguest that will be staying for a few weeks. A is the type of guest that you don't mind having around. He is helpful and low-maintenance.

The last time he visited, he helped clean the garage and he helped the kids with their homework.

He's been helping out with feeding the puppies (who are just starting real puppy food), repairing/maintaining the bicycles, and helping out with the kids.

I'm having some fun teaching him how to surf the 'net and I just had him get his first e-mail address from one of the free accounts online.

So, if I don't update for awhile, it's because there is now another person on the computer. While, sometimes I think that I spend more time than anyone else in the house on this computer, sometimes it's not enough.

Four adults sharing one computer. Two of us have websites. All of us have e-mail accounts now. I belong to several mailing lists and so does Faye. Most of our computer time is spent handling mail. Boy, will I be glad when we have 2 computers again!!
