Terry's 3M's: Meditations, Mutterings, Madness

Terry's 3M's

Yea!!!! The last of the puppies has finally been sold!

It's not that I don't like puppies...it's just that 2 dogs plus 2 puppies=lots of cleaning up the yard and other chores. Now that we're back to the 2 dogs, things should be getting back to normal soon.

I'll bet the other dogs will be happy now that their offspring are out of the nest, so to speak. Sunny will no longer have to run and hide in the doghouse every time he gets a treat because the little ones won't be dropping their treat and chasing after his. And Tabitha will finally be through with little ones who are too old to be nursing but like to latch on to Mama anyway.

The puppies will be happy in their new homes because now they will get to be the center of attention for a while.

The water bowls will stay cleaner, too. Because now the little ones won't be sticking their muddy paws into the bowl while drinking. Sunny and Tabitha will be happy about that because they totally dislike drinking water out of dirty dishes. They would rather go thirsty than drink dirty water...and I can't say that I blame them in the least.

Now, we need to give away a kitten. It's an adorable, scrawny, scared little thing. Light gray with white paws. It found it's way into our garage a couple of weeks ago. We have someone in the house who is allergic to cats, so we can't bring it inside the house. However, we can't let the poor thing starve and none of us were willing to call up one of the animal shelters where it would undoubtably be put to sleep. So, we leave water and food out for the wee thing. It sneaks around and will only eat with no one around. You see, the kids got to her. They wanted to play with the "kitty"...but, what happened was they overwhelmed her. They were trying to play with the kitten, but, the kids are so big and the kitten is so small that as soon as they set her down, she took off like a streak of lightning--over boxes, under dressers, through ladder rungs--disappearing somewhere in that packed three car garage. Every now and then I get a peek of the kitten rubbing against a bicycle tire or chair leg...but, she runs away when I try to reach down to pet her. I hope that someone will call and ask about soon (There are ads up at PetsMart and at Faye's workplace.)

It's mid-afternoon and I'm falling asleep over the keyboard. Late night, then up from 4-5:30 in the morning. Then asleep for another couple of hours when I wake up to 3 kids in my room. I should lock my bedroom door at night. But, I'm always afraid of locking myself out of my room when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. But, I am getting to the point where it might be worth the risk if only I can get up by myself in the morning.
