Adolescent Act passed extending
the age that one could leave school from 14 to 16 yr and continuation school (junior high) was expanded. First Junior High was in Melbourne in
1909 but by 1924 Ailsa Craig, Belmont, Coldstream, Deleware, Dorchester, Ilderton,
Lambeth, MountBridges, Thorndale, and Melbourne all had extended Junior Highs.
