Out of the Rain ~ Into the Rainbow

We were fishing one day when a storm roared in
we jumped in our car, soaked through to the skin!
If you've ever been there, you know how it feels
you want to be fishing, not cooling your heels

Can you imagine how silly we looked?
Bedraggled and haggard, lamenting our luck?
We got shaken out of our self-imposed state
as an arc of bright colors stretched over the lake

That rainbow engulfed us in its ethereal rays
A shimmering, glittering light show display!
As we quietly sat, immersed in Gods light
a second bright rainbow appeared in our sight.

We sat there entranced with the work of Gods hand
The rainbow is part of His promise and plan!
The rain brings the rainbow, they go hand-in-hand
how could we have forgotten Gods wonderful plan?

We were given a double reminder that day
as we sat there and watched those two rainbows at play!
We got out and stood on the shore of that lake
and decided in unison-the fishing could wait!

They danced on the waves in a parallel path
'til they went out of sight-the spell broken at last.
Every once in a while, on a gray cloudy day
we still reminisce on those rainbows at play!
The gift to be found is no "Leprechauns Gold;"
at the end of the rainbow?...GODS LOVE TO BEHOLD!
