Introduction

As we complete our overview of the animal kingdom, we will finish up with a specific focus on Marine Animals. This unit is individualized so that you can choose what you want to do when you want to do it. The purpose of the WebQuest portion of this unit is to help you utilize the internet and the vast resources it contains to expand your knowledge in the area of oceanography. Another purpose is that it will allow you to do some “surfing” of your own and help familiarize you with necessary computer research skills. I hope that you will find your time online fun as well as informative and that you will come away with a new appreciation of technology in the classroom. So jump on in and get your feet wet .....the water is great!

The Task

Please review the page in your Marine Animals Unit regarding your Webquest search. You will need to fill in all six sections with information you find on your search. How and what you choose to fill in on your sections is up to you. You will also need to tell me your own personal favorite internet site from the ones listed below and why you enjoyed your visit there. Along with that information I would like you to list three other sites, give a brief overview of the information listed there and offer any recommendations you might have as to its usefulness in your webquest search. The following is a list of the six titles for your Webquest search:

1. Kin with a Fin

2. Masters of Disguise

3. Take the Long Way Home

4. The Few, the Proud, the Marine Animals

5. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

6. Jaws and Effect
