More from my beautiful daughter
who brings so much joy and laughter into our lives.
We hope you get a chuckle from these stories!

At 18 months
Nana Lucy and I had been for a walk to the park and on our way back to the house our cat, Meeling, was caught trying to do a "woopsy" in a pot plant on the verandah. Nana called out "Get out of there Meeling or I'll cut your tail off!". I gave this great thought then asked "Nana, I get you the scissors?". Poor Nana nearly had a fit and surprisingly I've never heard her say that to Meeling since!

On the evening before the birth of Ben we were sitting at the table eating our tea. Mum was having contractions about every 10 minutes, some were hard and some were soft. Not wanting to be left out of the action I decided to make her feel comfortable. During one long contraction I downed my tools and put my hand on my forehead and starting to breath in - breath out - breath in - breath out! Needless to say Mum went into full labour shortly after that!

At 3
Ben and I were having a bath and Mum ask me not to let Ben suck on the facewasher. Ben was persistent so I took the facewasher off him and said, "let me have the facewasher Ben, you play with your doodle"!!!!!

At 3 and a bit
I went to my friends birthday party and Mum put my hair up in a pigtail. I looked really pretty and it was the first time my hair had been long enough to put up. When we got home Mum had to go out so I asked Dad to remove the hairband from my hair. Dad wasn't keen in case he pulled my hair out but eventually I convinced him to do so. When Mum got home I was sitting on Dad's knee and he was reading me a book. Mum immediately said, "What's happened to Jessica's hair?". Dad replied, "I don't know, I pulled the hairband out and a heap of hair came out with it. I've put the hair in the bin." Next thing Mum yells out, "Oh my gosh! We had better get her to the doctors, hair doesn't fall out like this, it's the whole pigtail!" She came back to the lounge and was really worried that something was seriously wrong. On closer examination of my hair she notice the fringe was only 1/4 inch long and very spiky. Mum asked, "Jessica, did you cut your ponytail off?". I said, "I couldn't get the hairband out." Mum was so relieved that she laughed then burst into tears. It was going to take at least 6 months before my hair would start to look decent again!

At 3 1/2 (July 7)
My Uncle Yogi came to spend a couple of days with us. We took him out shopping and while we were in the car we played "I spy". Uncle Yogi said, "I spy with my little eye something beginning with M". I thought and thought and he gave me a clue - "Who cooks your dinner?". I thought and thought and he gave me another clue - "Who looks after you?". I thought and thought and he gave me another clue - "Who looks after Benjamin?" Ah Ha! I got it - "Me"!!!!!

Almost 4 years!
"Hello, Mummy, my name is Sellarina the Fairy".
"Oh! Hello Sellarina - I was wondering do you think you could tell me what Jessica would like for her birthday?".
"Yes," responded Sellarina the Fairy, "Jessica would like a barn with animals."
"But we don't have a barn with animals, is there anything else?"
"Yes you do have a barn with animals - in the cupboard downstairs!"
Cough, splutter, oh dear a new hiding place is required!

At 4 1/2 years!
As you know, Kids can pick up many childhood diseases from kindergarten. Getting undressed early one morning Mum noticed some blisters on my back. She said, "Oh dear, Jessie, I think you have got chicken pox!". On closer inspection it was found to be true! Mum said, "I wonder where you got them from? Perhaps you picked them up at Kindy." "No," I said, "I couldn't have. I didn't have them on me when I left." (mmmmm?)
