Lots of people say it's a good thing for incarcerated persons to be given
work to do while in prison.

Likewise, lots of people think that a day's work is worth a day's pay.

You have to wonder, would this particular inmate agree with them?

Seems he'd been doing his job at a work-release facility in South
Carolina -- then he simply walked away. Pretty low-impact kind of
jailbreak.

A week later, though, he was taken back into custody.

Prison officials, knowing how his mind worked, were waiting for him when
he returned to the facility to pick up his paycheck.
