  • Imagine being the first and only person on earth.
  • Imagine not knowing any other person.
  • Imagine having no childhood, or parents, brothers or sisters.
  • This was Adam, until God created Eve.

Theirs was an open, sinless relationship with no lies, no selfishness, no arguments.AT FIRST.

When God created Adam he told him he could eat from any tree in the Garden of Eden except the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Now, when God created Eve you'd think that Adam would have told his new-found mate the rules, right? Right. So when Satan tempted Eve to eat the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil she knew that God had said 'Don't'. But she ate some of the fruit and offered Adam some and sadly, he took it.

This is the first sin of all. Instead of being happy with all the other things that God had given them, Adam and Eve went after the one thing that God had said they couldn't have. That's like us sometimes, aah? We forget about all the good things we have and moan about something we don't have.

This sin of Adam and Eve's allowed sin to come into the world and it's people and you and I have inherited this sin, that is why we find it so easy to do the wrong things. But praise God that Jesus Christ has died for our sins so if we believe in Him, try to do good and tell Him when we do something wrong, asking him to forgive us, then we are forgiven and God sees us as His very own children.

What's good about Adam?

  • He was the first human.
  • He was the first to be made in God's image.
  • He had an awesome relationship with God before he sinned.

What's not so good about Adam?

  • He disobeyed God by eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the only one God said not to touch.
  • When God confronted him about his sin, he blamed Eve and made excuses.

What can we learn?

  • We're made in God's image like Adam.
  • God doesn't like sin, no matter how big or small.
  • Don't blame other people for things you do wrong. Admit them to God and say sorry.
  • Sin entered into the human race through Adam and Eve.
