BREAD PUDDING WITH
WHISKEY SAUCE

1 loaf French bread
1 quart milk
3 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla
2 tablespoons nutmeg
1 cup raisins
3 tablespoons margarine, melted

Preheat oven to 350.  Soak bread in milk. Crush with hands until mixed, add eggs, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg and raisins.  Pour melted margarine in the bottom of a thick pan and pour in the batter.  Bake until very firm -- approximately 50 minutes to one hour.  Cool.

WHISKEY SAUCE

1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
3/4 cup sugar
4 tablespoon milk
2 jiggers whiskey (3-4 ounces)

Combine ingredients over low heat until well mixed and hot.  Pour over individual servings of Bread Pudding.
