Agility Rocks!

Here are the instructions for building an agility playground just like mine! Of course this equipment is not meant for competition, its just for playing around.

Weave Poles:
36" of 3/4" PVC pipe for each pole
3/4" caps for bottoms (Optional: caps for tops)
LONG Lag Bolt (about 6 in.)
Optional: Electrical tape for decoration

Cut poles to 36" lengths
Drill holes in caps large enough for bolt
Screw in bolts
Cap poles, optional: screw cap into pole
Optional: cap the top of pole or decorate

"Tire" Jump:
1 1/4" or 1 1/2" PVC pipe
Nylon Rope
3 Eye Bolts (large enough for rope)
1 Hula Hoop!
2 90-degree elbow joints
4 "T" joints

Cut pipe into:
4 approx. 30" parts (must be larger than diameter of hoop)
2 10" parts
4 18" parts

Assemble pipe as shown in diagram.
Screw in eye hooks as shown in diagram (maybe drill holes first)
Tie hoop in center.

Pole Jumps: (For each jump)
3/4" PVC Pipe
2 3/4" caps
4 1" caps, cut in half
6 "T" joints

Cut pipe into:
1 36" piece
12 6" pieces
2 30" pieces

First, drill cups onto 30" pieces: Attach the T-joint to the bottom and measure from the bottom of it, to make sure that your cups are at the same level. Choose the heights you want the jumps at and drill the half cups at these points.
Then, assemble the rest of the jump as shown in the picture.
Decorate the pole with electrical tape. (KC's looks like a candy cane!)

Collapsed chute:
Use 1" or 1 ¼" PVC pipe
Requires 8 3-pipe connectors: Probably have to buy in two parts.
Enough Nylon ( or THICK plastic tarp to save money) to surround cube on 4 sides, and long enough to cover length of cube and give the dog a nice length to run through. Plastic will wearout quickly!
Screws to attach nylon to cube
Optional: To prevent tearing in the nylon or plastic, you may want to attach 3 metal "eyes" (from sewing store) to the nylon for each side of the cube, which are just large enough to allow thin part of screw to fit through, but not the head.

Cut pipe into 12 18" pieces
Connect pieces to form cube.
Sew one STRONG seam down length of nylon, to form tube. Tube must be JUST large enough to surround cube.
On one end of cube, fold nylon under; attach metal eyes, if desired, to double thickness of nylon; screw nylon onto end of cube at three points on each side.
Optional: screw nylon to cube at open end, one point on each side.

Open Tunnel:
Purchasing the typical training or competition tunnel is ridiculous for play time. They cost about $300. Instead, go to Toys R Us and get a "See-Me Play" Tunnel for $20. It's only about 18" in diameter, but it will suite the purpose.
