Updates

August 7~I've been working hard. I uploaded lots of pictures for both my webpages (hamsters and dolphins) and and working on placing them. Lots of the pictures are placed in the information parts of the sites, and not the picture pages of the sites: so take a look around! Yesterday I made and added some new pictures of Po-Po and re-arranged the index.html. Doesn't it look nice? I'm going to fiddle around with the geoguides and pictures so that they load faster. More importantly: if a pop-up screen appears on any of the pages in Hamster Haven, please tell us! We don't want to worry you with those annoying, long loading pop-up windows!!

August 9~I added a bibliography page, a few helpful tables, a grooming page and some other page I don't remember. I also organized a lot of things on my site to make them more... organized including the links and the forums.

August 11~ As you can see, we update this page almost every day. I worked on the Housing section and added a lot of stuff. I also made it very neat. You know, organized. I am going to give out the prizes for the hamster show, then start a contest. Actually, I already started one. But I will think of starting another. Also, I was thinking of making some contests for 'Great WEbpages' or just great webpage awards. But I don't know of a banner-maker or something similar that would make the banner worth it. I added counters to all the picture pages, the contest page, and I edited my dolphin webpage a lot. I am going to make my pictures look more professional (clear backgrounds, with a Hamster Haven logo over it to prevent stealing). My goal now is to make Hamster Haven very user-friendly and fast loading. My arch enemy: The (so-called) "Complete" hamster site.

August 12~ It is 1:14 A.M. here in the good 'ole central time zone. *Urp..* I don't feel so good. I had some rainbow-ice cream (not shurbert.. I can't stand that) and I mixed in granola and chocolate syrup stuff. Then I mixed it all up and it looked like... well.. not good. It was real' funny. When me and my brother were done, we were bored and I told him how we were spos'ed to have 10 glasses of water a day. My sister had kept nagging me about how your system wouldn't flush out and crap if you didn't have lotsa water, and I barely remember to have 1 glass a day. So my brother dared me to chug 10 glasses of water, and next thing I know he is leaning over the kitchen sink right next to me, trying to chug too. Then my sister comes upstairs and yells at us for making so much noise and retreats back to her burrow muttering: "If you puke, I'll laugh" and I laughed so hard water and snot went flying out of my nose into the sink and I almost lost what water I had already consumed. It was so funny! But I couldn't drink any more than 9 glasses and neither could my bro (you try! It's hard!!). I tried stumbling around my room and annoying Po (my hamster) but my stomach still ached. I don't think my brother kept it inside (or could).
Anyways.. what was the point? Oh well. I don't think there is a point. Umm.. I made this new page and updated that and stuff and um stuff. There.
Man, am I bored! None of you people are e-mailing me! Well, I guess you don't need to. I mean, my site is the best site in the world and it doesn't require comments and little stupid details like that.. right? :( I am going to go surfing now and see what OTHER people put on THEY'RE hamster pages to try and make mine better. I am thinking of making a long, silly, interesting hamster survey. Well, whatever.

August 17~ I have had a tough weekend. Traveled, had 2 sleep overs, etc. I got out of babysitting today, however! I don't have anything to add to my pages at all. Except maby: A little more to my personal page, and a "How to get your hamster back if it excapes" page. Also, I am adding some pictures of a slightly used hamster book and a cute hamster food dish to my Shows and Contests page. Other than that, I really don't have much to do. I made all the images, pages, and so forth I can think of and I tried my hardest to make Hamster Haven user-friendly and quick-loading. I think after today I will hand this site over to my boss at the Haven House (trademark symbol goes here). I hope they like it! All I have to do to keep Hamster Haven going is check all the e-mail accounts and reply to the forms people sent me! After about a year or two Hamster Haven will be booming (if I keep it up), and then I will think about more sister-sites or even merging with an equally good site.

August 29~ I've been updating my site often, but just not updating this paticular page. I've started on a totally new page about nothing in paticular, but that has a very extensive web-help page, some poetry, pictures, and personal diary entries. Here is the link. Also I've been looking for images for that page, and backgrounds. For this page too, backgrounds is a thing I need. I went on vacation to Wisconsin to visit my grandma this weekend, and am getting tired of the plain. Anyways, I am going to update the Travel section a LOT, and the web-help too. Also I updated the survey.. I don't think all the questions work. I made the second survey a few days ago, about our veiwers. Umm... what else? School starts this Wednesday! I still have to go shopping for clothes and supplies. And on top of that, my brother is getting a hamster!!!!!!!!!!! We're not sure what kind (if it is siberean, we may get 2). We have plenty of cages though.
I checked my mail on a laptop while at Wisconsin. Some questions about odd hamster things, but I'm prepared for everything. One was an abandon hamster on a stoop that had 2 babies, and another about a hamster with a retracted cheekpouch that wouldn't return to place. Also, I am having lots of trouble with music (am thinking of uploading all of it again), and found out how to make my own animated gif's! Check out this one of Potpourri talking and blinking!! Well, thats about it.

August 31~ School starts tomorow! I may not be able to update this page as often anymore. Guess what I'm doing on my last day of freedon? Babysitting. I can't even go school/clothes shopping or call up my "friends" and chat about school.
Anyways, my brother got a siberan hamster yesterday and is living politely in a cracked safari- habitrail cage. THe weird thing is, I thought (and so did my sister) that dwarf hamsters were vicious- at least more so than syrian (or so we though) but in reality, the opposite is ture! They ones we all held seemed a lot calmer/nicer than any store syrian hamster I've ever met! N ow, I still like syrian better and I only was introduced to 2 different cages of dwarf hamsters in my life, but the above is still true about dwarves.
My brother got a "Silky" dwarf hamster (one of many different breeds of dwarf hamsters). It looks greasy/wet. At least I thought it was before the guy selling them told me it was just their characteristic. However, I did notice that siberean hamsters cost a LOT more on average than your nomal syrian hamster (probably because siberan hamsters' are native to the U.S. and siberean are not). And neither are sold for food (you know, for snakes... except the rare hairless species)!
I don't know much at all about Sibearean hamsters. However, we did get all the right things for starting out. We got a cage and carrier ready and shopped around for quality before we made any decisions
So.. I may be adding a page about the new hamster and definately add stuff about dwarf hamsters to my site. Also, I gave a convincing argument about getting a blue (rex, or some other appealing and unusual species) RAT from a breeder sometime in the near future to my mom. In one sitting! You wouldn't believe how HARD it is to do that in our house! Still, though, I have to improve my already-above-average grades to convince mom totally..
I added an abortion page to my site. I know it has nothing to do wich hamsters, but it is important to me. Besides, I want my voice heard before the government passes a law. Did you know they get paid to simply make laws? You never know if they make laws for our own good or for themselves to make money. Doesn't that just... suck? Did you know adding different subjects to your site makes it more popular? Sort of like how a pure-bred dog (site w/only one subject) is not as strong or immune to diseases as a cross-bred dog (site w/ lotsa subjects). Anyways, I give up on the music.

September 5~ I updated the response-o-matic answer to give out some extra help for those who wrote in to our expert (me). :) I also checked my messages from people who needed help, and added one to the breeding f.a.q.. I suggest you check out that and our other f.a.q.'s before you send in a question to us. Also, I am wanting to add some info moreso about me, but am really tired. School takes a LOT out of you, expessially if you spend your entire life devoted souly to trying to fit it, and not your work and your standards are too high to make friends with any of the stuck-up yuppie jerks. I can't wait until I'm out of school. Then it wont matter if I had friends, or if I was popular.... Only if I devoted time to my work........... oops.

July 7~ WOW I haven't updated this page for a loooooong time! Well, now that I'm done with school, camping, and vacations for a little while, I can have enough time to spend on this site! Over the school year I have been answering tons of questions, and added myself to AllExperts.com to increse this sites popularity and to answer peoples hamster questions!
Also over the summer I've created 3 new sites: The Island A webpage about me, Pokemon Paradise Sea A webpage about pokemon for my friend, and a big project I am working on also for my friend: The Senzu Garden. That is a comedic fan site about the anime Dragon Ballz and all it's linking series.
Also over the year I've taught myself some simple javascript, DHTML, and played around with tables. I made a Webpage Help page, although it seems sort of pointless on a HAMSTER site.

Big News! Hamster Haven has MOVED to http://www.hamsterhaven.cjb.net. That is actually a mirror site that cloaks the long url: http://www.oocities.org/heartland/park/2236/. I am going to move Hamster Haven to a different site on geocities: http://www.oocities.org/HamsterHaven. The cjb.net site will stay the same, though.
