                                                                                                        Dance Night 1999
graduation day (ie: the last day of school for us) our favourite hang-out -- the Hole
from left (standing): me, dawn, peiling, karin, careen, ailin               we have our breaks there when the canteen is too
(seated): mr purvis and mr sowden                                        crowded. the new face on the far right is karen

picture taken at liping's house after a particularly boring geography s paper lesson: something about division of labour (which i'm learning again now *screams*). as for why my face is in that red circle...that's because i got this photo off the RJC geography homepage, and mr lee was trying to highlight (to the world) the jedi knights (it's just him and his star wars fervour again).......here's what he wrote
"These are the rare breed of apprentices who have not only graduated from the Academy, but have chosen to be trained and to train others in the Spatial way.. Ladies and gentlemen, presenting, the Jedi Knights, defenders of the Geographic Force (those circled in red)."
so here i am circled in red, all because i'm doing geography at UC Berkeley now. :) i feel honoured. *takes a deep bow*

and friends are friends forever....
if the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say 'never'
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go,
in Our Father's hands we know,
that a lifetime's not to long to live as friends
this is a song our geography teacher, mr eric lee taught the class. he used it for his video FRIENDS as well
nowadays, everytime i hear this song on the radio, i just remember all those fun times i had in RJC, and i
miss being a student very very much. miss the tutorials, the lectures, going from class to class,
laughing and learning at the same time. my two years at RJC have been really really unforgettable.

that's us on graduation day (again!)
on the photo on the left, that's careen, me, peiling, mr sowden and dawn in the canteen
(canteen studies!)
in the photo on the right, that's me, dawn peiling and careen near the spectators' gallery

All too soon, JC life is over.
But I know I'll look back at my two years at RJC and remember the fun we've had as a class.
The class outings, class parties, canteen studies, cao mugging in the library together for moral support, handball sessions during PE lessons etcetera, etcetera, etcetera (in the style of The King and I)

methinks this is a really nice nice picture taken outside our classroom
peiling, me, careen, dawn and ailin

Presenting the Residents  (trumpets please!)

Anne and her artsy-fartsy stuff and who bakes really good brownies and cakes once in a while for the class. yummy!
Li-Ann (Cornell, USA. urban planning) with her graceful dancing (she is so good on stage!) and a good friend.
Joyce (Northwestern, USA. journalism/econs) the sprinter, Maths wiz, the BRAIN and the envy of many.
Karin (King's College, UK. law) and her Friend of Singa award and homepage designing AND her not-so-loser brownie recipe.

Stephanie (UK. law) the spirited sailor and councillor. can be super comical at times.
Karen (NUS english) who was in the same kindergarten class as me and who is going to be a teacher next time *grins* all your students will be super afraid of her...that i can guarantee. *grins*
Liping (University College of London, UK. law) a.k.a Tinky-winky, who complains about PE every Monday although she will always turn up for the Poon torture in the end. currently complaining about the sucky weather in UK (california rules!)
Peiling (King's College, UK. law) and her cheng-tng, great figure, singing, a really really close friend who has heard much of my complaints and who has related as much about her shopping escapades. she's been back to singapore more times that i have over the past year *look of envy*

Smita (University of Pennsylvania, US. business) the linguist.....gei wo jelly! and resident spark of the class. she NEVER fails to brighten up the whole room with her wide smile and her sparkly eyes.
Ailin (NUS law) who has a big heart and also in recent times, has been in really high spirits...dunno why also. ;)
Jacqueline (NUS geography) with her Pooh Bears and who ALWAYS says that EVERYTHING I do is cute. her netball is super super good :) and her cakes and brownies (betty crocker!) are the best in town! *big hug*
Dawn (NUS law) and her free couselling service (for me lah that is) and a really good friend. Hearing her complain about the sun being too hot for PE is not surprising either. :) and then there's her super nice hand-made cards that i love getting in the mail. makes me really really happy.

Careen (NUS econs) is now affectionately known as 'Gangster Chen' and 'GP Chen' cos of her really high comprehension marks...yes...i'm talking about 42/50 here! *faint* she complains that i'm not grateful about being in the US when i start talking about missing beef noodles in singapore.
Xianwei the rugger with an attitude and fellow ICQ hogger. Also, has this perpetually bo-chup look on his face. seriously! although it may not be a super true reflection of his REAL self =P
Kok Siew the world class director who is my xiao-di, and who also was the Arts-Comm Faculty Leader. talk about charisma. this person has it all. currently chiong-ing in officer cadet school (but will soon be the one torturing some suay cao recruits)
Marcus and his super-zai stuff and funny jokes and $1 fried rice. his laugh is infectious, which is bad, because he laughs when he is amused, and everyone will just HAVE to laugh with him.

Mark the aspiring designer whose drawings are simply outta this world perfect.
Warren the Maharaja (yar, right! Give you face only!) a super econs powerhouse, and a MAS scholar. look who's going to control the coiffers of singapore next time! =P
Shanjie the muscle man who is a fanatic about boiled eggs and is the resident geog class info guru (especially with regards to india...his hometown) he is also a okok-close friend whom i can talk to for hours on end sometimes.
