God's Salvation Plan
To understand God's plan of salvation, a person must understand these simple spiritual truths.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9
When the Bible says God is Holy, it means that He is without sin and totally righteous. Because God is Holy, he must judge unholy.
Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy. Psalm 99:9
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
Although we would all like to think of ourselves as being a little better than the person down the street. The truth is -- We have all sinned and do not meet God's Holy standard.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
The price for sin is eternal separation from God and His Heaven. Remember God is just and must punish sin. But there is hope . . .
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
. . . because I live, ye shall live also.
John 14:19Jesus did not remain dead. He rose from the grave assuring that He could grant us eternal life. We worship and trust a living saviour.
Romans 10:9-10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Two key thoughts are here:
1) We must confess we are sinners and see sin as God sees sin - ugly (This means we will want to turn from the sin and live right because we too see sin as ugly and unholy)
2) We must believe -- have faith -- Faith that allows us to put our live in God's hands.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
Would you make that prayer now? The exact words are not important, just remember to ask for forgiveness and tell the Lord you want to turn from sin. Tell Him you want Him to be the Lord of our life.
