The family emmigrated from Austria to Brooklyn, New York. Five children were born in New York; Wilhelmina, Julia, Julius, Johanna and John. Julia died at 13 days old of bronchitis. They then moved to Allentown, PA. John died young of pneumonia or scarlet fever. David and Victoria were twins and they were stillborn.
Johanna never married, is buried in the same plot as her father.
