My faith







St. John 3:16
…For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life…







About 15 years ago I accepted Jesus in my life. I grew up in a non-christian family, but at a point in my life I started searching for answers, what was the meaning of life.
Now as a christian I still do not understand everything about what is happening in my life, or in the world. But Corrie ten Boom had a nice metaphor for that:

Life is like the backside of an embroidery. You only see the little threads and knots and just a little what it must look like. Once you turn it around you see how beautiful it is. Well that beautiful side we will see when we are with the Lord.

Until that time has come I try to do, to live like Jesus wants me to.
Do I succeed all the time? Am I a better person then others now? Am I perfect?
No.
But I know that when the Lord looks at me He sees a perfect person, without any sin.
Why?

Because I believe Jesus died for me, taking all my sins, of the past, the present and the future.
Because I believe Jesus rose from the death.
Because I believe Jesus is in heaven at the right hand of God, praying for me, pleading for me and prepared a place for me there.







When I was baptized I used the following text on the invitations:

2 Corinthians 5:17
…Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new…

And the song I choose to sing at the end has the text:

Psalms 68 verse 19
…Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation…







Until the day I may go to Him I live my life together with my Lord Jesus.
Sometimes difficult, but never alone.







Hebrews 12:1-2
…Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God…

When I downloaded this midi and was adding it to this page, my husband turned on the TV, there was a praise-program.
The first song we heard was ... "the power of Your love"!!
Next morning during the service one of the songs we sang was ... "the power of Your love".

Once when we were going through a rather difficult period in our lives a niece of ours gave us a postcard. On one side of the postcard was the image of an eagle with the text: "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles..." (Isaiah 40:31 KJV).
On the other side she wrote some encouraging words and sticked a poem with it, which is so beautifull, like it was written especially for us at that time, that I have put it on a page (I do not know who wrote the poem).
