This family property of 900 acres straddled the Paulding/Bartow County line near Dabbs Bridge. His mothers side of the family was the LACKEY family, his grandfather was William Lackey the son of Jane Roland, who was the daughter. Of John ROLAND. The Roland home was on a bluff overlooking what is now Hwy 61 near the airport. His Dad's maternal grandmother was Ada J. Dowis from the Adairsville area. She died shortly after childbirth in 1900.
