I liked this link. My father's name is Sam Brady and is a Chief at a local Fire Dept. I was in the army in the early 80's and was assigned to the 3/75 Ranger Bat. in 1984. A lot of the information I have read on the formation and actions of "Brady's Range

My husband and I are the owners of the house pictured on the Stark County page which is listed as the "Isaac Welton" house on 4th Street. I have never heard of Issac Welton. The original owner and builder of our home in 1837 was Hiram Wellman. He and
is brother were two of the "movers and shakers" in Massillon in the 1830s. Hiram's niece was the mother of Jack London, the author.

Hello! I am in the process of working with the Kent Parks and Recreation Department to re-nominate the Kent Jail to the National register. The building, originally built in 1869, was moved in December 1999 to Fred Fuller Park to make way for the new Wal
reens. Because of the move, the Jail had to be removed from the National Register (previously listed: 19780810 78002173). I just wanted to thank the Historical Society for the informative web site and to let them know I had to learn how to cite a web p

Just visited the site for the first time today and think it's great. It brings back a lot of memories. I remember delivering Record Couriers to an old guy who lived in the Opera House, you had to enter through the car garage on the first floor. You cou
d see the stage and walked across the balcony to get to his apartment. That was about 1960 or so. My buddy and I used to get the train at the station on Saturday and ride to Akron for 75 cents apiece! That was about 1964.
