Carson, Lydia A. Harris, Julia A. Roach...1919 R.C. Harris Attorney Deed of Allen FOSTERS heirs to Silas R. LUSK dated 6.23,1868 Deed of minor heirs of Allen FOSTER and their father William D. FOSTER deceased. A son of Allen FOSTER deceased to Silas R. LUSK 2-15-1869 I feel that Allen FOSTER is Mary Matilda FOSTERS father. Allen was the bondman in Copiah Co., Ms. when Mary married Sylus. This Allen is probably related to James I. and Singleton FOSTER of Yell Co., Ar. My family always said they were double cousins to the FOSTERS of Yell Co., Ar., Probably thru Allen FOSTER and thru Harriet HARRIS FOSTER who is daughter of Ormond HARRIS. From Our Traveling Correspondent pg. 1 Col. 2&3 Yell Co., Ar. The first gentleman I called on was a Mr. R.C. FOSTER, who treated me very kindly, from there I rode up the valley, to the residence of our mutual friend, Mr. S.R. LUSK, where I remained all night. Mr. LUSK is one of our best citizens, a model farmer and a true gentleman. I next halted at the home of my kind old friend Mr. Richard HOOD, is not only one of our best and most substantial citizens, but he is energentic and enterprising. Mr. HOOD came here six years ago, on account of health, leaving a valuable plantation and comfortable home in Monroe Co., Ar. About 18 months ago Mr. HOOD saw the necessity of a general store in the valley, so he opened a small stock of general merchandise. The people have shown their appreciation of Mr. HOOD'S efforts with their libral patronage and now has a good and well selected stock of dry goods, groceries, etc. |
