As I sit and watch the storm come in My mind drifts back and the memories begin. They take me back to another place and time, When life was simple and so sublime. Storms back then scared me so, When one came rolling in, I knew just where to go. Where I'd be safe and kept from It's harms Where else, but to my fathers arms. The safest place I could be, I knew my dad would forever protect me. He would always have the same story to tell, I knew this story so very well. There is no need to fear the storm my love, All that noise is the Angels playing up above. But dad, what kind of games do Angels play? Why bowling of course Pumpkin, he would say. Do Angels know how to bowl? Yes Pumpkin, and sometimes the noise gets out of control. For whenever they get a strike, It makes that loud sound you dislike. This always made sense to me, The lighting & thunder were only the Angels you see . Then it seemed all was okay, I knew it was just the Angels at play This story always took away all my fears, Remembering it now to my eyes brings tears. For my dad years ago passed away. But his story forever in my mind will stay As this storm moves in I just smile for the sounds of the Angels will begin in awhile. I look up to the heavens and say, Dad you gonna get a strike today?
