I have been a childcare provider for four years. I am also the mother of 2 children.
2.Do you have at least two references?
Yes. They are available upon request.
3.What kinds of things do you enjoy doing with the children?
We sing songs, we dance, we color and do crafts, we read books.
4.What are your views on discipline (child guidance)?
If the child is misbehaving, I ask them to sit on the couch and think about their actions.
5.How much television is viewed by the children?
The only things I will put on the tv are educational videos and Disney.
6.What types of field trips do you take the children on?
I do not take the children on field trips as I do not want the responsibility of other children in my car.
7.What happens if my child becomes ill or has an accident?
I call the parent when it is necessary to have the child picked up.
8.How sick does a child have to be before they cannot attend?
State regulations say that if a child has a contagious disease, a fever of 101 or higher, vomiting, or diarrhea.
9.How and when do you inform parents of other children's illness?
If it is a contagious disease, I will call all daycare parents as soon as I am notified.
10.What happens if you get sick?
I ask all my daycare parents to have a backup for that reason. (But, in my four years of doing childcare, I have never closed because of illness.
11.Are you trained in First Aid?
Yes and in CPR.
12.What hours are you open?
7:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. But, I can be flexible, if necessary.
13.Do you have a specific daily schedule?
No. I go along with what the children want to do (read, sing, crafts, dance). I do try to do crafts three times a week.
14.Are there any times when you will not be able to care for my child?
When I am closed because of a holiday, my vacation, or an illness.
15.Are there any extra expenses?
Other than your weekly fee, there are usually no other expenses.
16.When are fees due?
On Monday morning, which is care for that week.
17.What is included in the weekly fee?
Morning and afternoon snacks and lunch. Craft supplies are also included.
18.What's the policy for paying for childcare when the child doesn't attend?
In order to hold your children(s) enrollment in the daycare, this fee must be paid whether your child is here or not.
19.What is your policy regarding holidays?
I have nine paid holidays. (Please see my list of paid holidays.)
20.What are your overtime policies?
An additional fee of $5 per half hour. But, it is not enforced, unless abused.
21.How long do you intend to continue providing care?
I have no plans on changing careers.
22.What do you feed the children?
Nutritional, TEAM (food program) approved menus.
23.Are other adults present in the house during the daycare day?
No.
