Okeechobee was settled by cattlemen in the 1800's and the original family ranches are still in operation!

We have one of the largest livestock auctions in the southeast, right here in Okeechobee on Mondays and Tuesdays of each week.

Wherever you go in Okeechobee, you'll see our country way of life exhibited. No, we don't carry six-guns on our side, but we do wear cowboy boots, spurs, hats, jeans and etc.!

We are proud to host two annual PRCA RODEOS the second weekend of March and Labor Day weekend. Participants come from all over the United States and Canada to compete for top prize monies and recognition. Many national rodeo contestants have come from right here in Okeechobee.

The Okeechobee High School has a rodeo team which competes through out the United States!
