DID YOU KNOW that in 1904 Rome called the “seperated brethren” (a term she now uses to describe Protestants) “heretics and infidels”? Who changed?
“A decadent Protestant rejects the necessity of baptism, thereby ceasing to be Christian, and in its trail infidelity thrives and spreads, disguised ‘tis true, but nevertheless genuine infidelity” (Explanation of Catholic Morals, Stapleton, 90).
DID YOU KNOW Rome use to teach:
“One may apostatize to heresy by rejecting the Church [Roman Catholicism]....”[?] (Explanation of Catholic Morals, Stapleton, 90).
DID YOU KNOW that Catholic women were required to cover their hair before entering the church before Vatican II, but now they have no such discipline?
DID YOU KNOW:
“It is very irreverent for women and girls to go to Holy Communion with sleeveless dresses, low necks, and no stalkings.[?] The paint of their lipstick may possibly touch the Sacred Host” (My Catholic Faith, Morrow, 313).
DID YOU KNOW that Rome today paints herself in a positive light calling anyone who disagrees with her a “Catholic-basher”? But it was not that long ago (and in some places today where Catholicism has power) when her laws (the same laws that have never been removed...just silent) meant the death of those who disagreed with her.
DID YOU KNOW
“The Roman Catholic Church...must demand the right of freedom for herself alone” [?] (Civilta Cattolica, April 1948, Rome).
DID YOU KNOW although Rome, at one point, taught Limbo as a place for unbaptized babies, it was not always so in Catholicism? Pope Gregory “the Great” taught:
“Babies are born as the damned fruit of the lust of their redeemed parents. From the first, they are the offspring of Gehenna or Hell; they are justly children of wrath because they are sinners. If they die unbaptized, they are condemned to everlasting torments for the guilt of their birth alone” (Vicars of Christ, De Rosa, 324).
DID YOU KNOW:
“...Gregory XVI, in MIRARI VOS of Aug.1832, described liberty of conscience as a mad opinion. [?] Religious liberty was said to flow from ‘the most feted fount of indifferentism’. He condemned freedoms of worship, the press assembly and education as a filthy sewer full of heretical vomit’” (Vicars of Christ, De Rosa, 146).
DID YOU KNOW on page 35 of Explanation of Catholic Morals we find:
“...her [the Catholic church] only reasonable attitude makes her forbid her children to read or listen to heretical controversy, or to endeavor to discover religious truths by examining both sides fo the questions” [?] (Emphasis mine) (This is an effective means of keeping the Catholic laity in subservience and ignorance. Our Lord said, “Come let us reason together.” Isa.1:18)
DID YOU KNOW Pope John Paul II told his followers to seek after
“India’s...spiritual vision of man...[T]he world does well to attend to this ancient wisdom”[?] (L’Observatore Romano, Feb.10, 1986, “Spiritual Vision of Man,” 5).
DID YOU KNOW Gregory the “Great” (one of the most popular popes from 590 to 604) said:
“...the title of pope as ‘Ecumenical Bishop’ (bishop of the whole church) was ‘proud and foolish’ and ‘an imitation of the devil’” [?] (Roman Catholicism, Boettner, 240-241).
DID YOU KNOW:
“Sixtus V (1585-1590) recommended the reading of the Bible, but Pius VII (1800-1823) and various other popes condemned that practice” [?] (Roman Catholicism, Boettner, 250)
DID YOU KNOW:
“...there have been several popes who expressly disclaimed the attribute of infallibility, [?] most conspicuous of whom have been Vigilius, Innocent III, Clement IV, Gregory XI, Hadrian VI, and Paul IV” (Roman Catholicism, Boettner, 252).
DID YOU KNOW the Catholic theologian, Bellarmine stated:
“According to the Holy Fathers of the Church, the fire of purgatory does not differ from the fire of hell, except in point of duration. [?] ‘It is the same fire, says St. Thomas Aquinas, ‘that torments the reprobate in hell, and the fust in purgatory. The least pain in purgatory,’ he says, ‘surpasses teh greatest suffering in this life.’ Nothing but the eternal duration makes the fire of hell, fore terrible than that of purgatory” (Roman Catholicism, Boettner, 220).
DID YOU KNOW:
“... it was to satisfy the superstitious minds of former nations, who had become convicted that she [Mary] was introduced [by the Catholic Church] as a powerful intercessor, [?] who could equal, and even surpass the supposed powers of Isis, Diana, etc., and that she should then be worshipped and invoked instead of their former heathen goddesses, and to further satisfy the converts, statues of the Blessed Virgin were made, just as there were statues of Isis, Diana, etc., before which they were to kneel and pray-not to the statues themselves, but to the one they represented, just as when they were yet heathensthey had been accustomed to doing before heathen statues, to which they prayed directly”(Secrets of Romanism, Zacchello, 136, 137).
Regardless, whether you’re praying to the statue, or the one it supposedly represents, (This in only one of the reasons we’re specifically told not to make or use idols) it is directly opposed to scripture. (I Cor.10: 19-21, Psa.96:5, Isa.69:22, Isa.66:1-5)
DID YOU KNOW:
“Even Tradition, the usual refuge of the Roman Catholics, contradicts this papal dogma [Immaculate Conception] [?]...Augustine, Ambrose, Chrysostom, Eusebius, Anselm, Cardinal Cajetan, St. Antoninus, St. Thomas Aquinas, Pope Gregory the Great, Pope Innocent the third and many other fathers, doctors, saints, and the Popes of the Roman Church clearly deny that Mary was conceived without original sin”(The Other Side of Rome, Zacchello, 138).
Pope Gregory the “Great” said:
“He [Jesus] ALONE is truly born holy who, in order that he might conquer that same condition of a corrupt nature, was NOT CONCEIVED BY CARNAL CONJUNCTION” (Vicars of Christ, De Rosa, 325) (Emphasis mine).
DID YOU KNOW:
“... Benedict XII...[o]n 29 January 1336, in a public consistory... said that after death the saints enjoy the beatific vision without any delay[?]. Anyone holding a contrary opinion was to be punished as a heretic”(Vicars of Christ, DeRosa, 215).
DID YOU KNOW Pius XI stated:
“This Apostolic Sea has never allowed its subjects to take part in the assemblies of non- Catholics. There is but one way in which the unity of Christians may be fostered, and that is by furthering the return to the one true Church of those who are separated from it” (Vicars of Christ, DeRosa, 268).
DID YOU KNOW Pope John XXIII said:
“Take for instance, the catechism...We make it an obligation for the faithful to abstain Fridays and to assist at Mass on Sundays UNDER PAIN OF MORTAL SIN.[?] Is this reasonable, and how many Catholics believe this? As for unbelievers, they merely have pity on us” (Vicars of Christ, DeRosa, 284).
DID YOU KNOW: “Instead of rethinking the constitution of the church entirely, the fathers took Vatican I as read and tacked on their own additions” [?] (Vicars of Christ, DeRosa,284).
DID YOU KNOW the Catholic church admits:
“...I do not undertake to prove to you that when we pray before a picture or a statue of a saint, that that saint infallibly hears or knows what we are saying, or even what we are doing” [?] (Plain Facts, 170).
DID YOU KNOW that at on Catholic site, (http://net2.netacc.net/~bbasile/tpray.htm) they are praying for the return of the Tridentine Latin Mass?
“Grant we pray Almighty God, that through the intercession of St. Joseph, the peace, order and beauty of the Trindentine Latin Mass may be restored to our churches. Amen”
DID YOU KNOW that “Fr.” Sanborn admits:
“If Vatican II is not the truth, and you know it is not, then he who teaches it to the Church as truth cannot have the mission from Christ to teach the truth” (St. Anthony of the Desert’s Catholic Website).
DID YOU KNOW one pre-Vatican II Catholic publication expressed Rome’s view of other religions:
“Protestantism-we would draw it and quarter it. We would implae it and hang it up for the crows to eat. We would tear it with pincers and fire it with hot irons. We would fill it with molten lead and sink it in a thousand fathoms of hell fire” (The Western Watchmen, Dec.24, 1908). [Of course, they say they now love us. What happens when they change again? Only this time they will have the power to enact their laws.]
