Okay, first of all, where to start? Well, you should have a Bible handy to reference to.
There
are many different types of Bibles written in different forms. Such as, King
James, New
King
James, New International Version (NIV) and many more. I suggest using a study
Bible with a
Concordance,
a scripture reference column for cross referencing, and I also suggest using
the
NIV
version as it is very easy to read and understand. Zondervan makes a wonderful
study Bible in
NIV
but any study Bible will work fine. Also, having the words of Jesus in red
makes understanding much easier. As you look for a Bible, you will see most
have this feature.
We will start at Genesis and work our way thru to the end. Most
people like to start this way especially if they are reading to study. But if
you have a desire to just read some of the Bible but don’t really want to dig
into a long study of it, may I suggest starting at the Gospels in the beginning
of the
New
Testament. These cover the life, ministry, and death of Jesus. Once you get an
idea of his teachings and ministry, you may want to study the rest of the Bible
to see how all things revolved around him to bring salvation to mankind.
My plan is to present this study on a
“as we go” scenario so please be patient with me and may I add that reading ahead is fine. The pages
here are plain and simple. I am trying to conserve web space so this will all fit.
My ministry does not have the funds to purchase additional web space as I do
not ask for donations and pay for everything myself. I also would like to put a
chat forum on here somewhere and have mp3 mini-sermons. These are things I am
looking at and working on.
Learning thru God’s Word is
continuous. You can gain knowledge every time you open it and read from it.
Lets learn and grow together.
