We hear Jesus being called the Lamb of God but why?
From the beginning of the bible we see sacrifices being brought before God. Cain and Abel put
their offerings before Him. God told Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac to show his faith.
Later we see God instructing Moses on how to sacrifice for the Jews.
The people would take their offerings to the priest where he would offer it to God in their behalf.
This would cover their sins in the eyes of God for a year. It was temporary but it was the covenent
that they had with God at that time. When you took your offerings, you took your best.
A lamb was a very special sacrifice. Now this kind of sacrifice was done under the covenent
between God and Abraham. But God wanted to give us people of the world a better one.
So he sent us His Son Jesus. As Jesus grew older, He started His ministry by gathering the
disciples He chose and began to instruct them on how to teach the world to be part of the new
covenent with God. His death on the cross would become the final sacrifice we needed to become
right before God. He would be the way to the Father. His blood would cover all of our sins.
And it was permanent, not a year to year deal as before. God sacrificed His only son, so we could
have eternal life.,,
Dear Jesus, I believe in you. I believe you are the Son of God, that you died for our sins and that you
were buried and rose again as it is written in the Bible. I'm sorry for the things I have done that hurt you. Forgive me for all my sins. Come into my heart, take charge of my life and make me the way you want me. Cleanse me with your precious blood. I confess now that you are my Lord and Savior.
Thank you Father for your son. In Jesus name I pray this. Amen.
That's it. Your life is changed forever. All the promises and blessings of God are yours.
If you have any questions, please write me and we will find the answers in God's Word.
John 3:16 tells us;
" For God so loved the world, that he gave His one and only begotten Son, that whoever believes
in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
So now, we have a way to establish a personal relationship with God. Not by our works as Paul tells
us in Eph 2:8,9;
" It is the gift of God, not by our works, so that no one can boast".
You may ask, what do I need to do then to have eternal life and a personal relationship with God?
Romans 10:9 tells us; That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
So by speaking with our mouth in prayer and believing that Jesus is our Lord and saviour we can
have eternal life. If you don't know how to say this, here is a prayer you can use.
