SUMMER OF 1991
Tiller The Killer
The Summer of Mercy, Rescues in Wichita, Kansas, 1991 drew thousands of people. We took my car and another van full of people from Florida. There was a "doctor" out there that was advertising internationally, and doing late term abortions. His name was Tiller, so he was called "Tiller the Killer".There were more killing centers in Wichita but this one of Tiller's had to be the abomination of abominations. Rescues were held at other centers there also.
There was a hotel in Wichita that was on the verge of bankruptcy, but when he heard the Rescuers were coming he gave a flat rate fee for us, and his hotel was filled to capacity, and his hotel was SAVED. It was a beautiful hotel, right downtown, with indoor swimming pools, and several other indoor activities. There were rallies every night in the hotel, with standing room only. Operation Rescue set up their headquarters right there in the hotel. There were busses to take us to the killing centers. There was food prepared for us wherever we went. In the hotel in the mornings there were coffee and donuts in the lobby, there was a wonderful dinner after church held in a gymnasium at a public park, there were other meals being served at different locations. THE LORD PROVIDES!
Then came the Rescues, hundreds of people were out in the streets with signs, and praying and singing unto God. We had all received our instructions the night before what we were to do. At a given time each group was to do what we were going to do. I crawled on my hands and knees along with many others across a street and sat at the Federal Marshalls feet who were at the iron gate to the killing center. It was like the very gates of hell.
And there was a fence six feet high all the way around this killing center. Another group of Rescuers actually leapt over that fence, and the Lord showed me in His Word that it was He that
caused these people to run thru a troop and leap over that wall. See 2 Samuel 22;30. Glory to God!
The guards who had been guarding the killing center for over a month at this time were very astounded. The arrests began and they brought busses to haul us off to jail. We were each handcuffed which is standard procedure, and carried to the bus, while I was still on the ground I heard people on the bus yelling and I heard some slapping and hitting going on. Some of our people had slid out of their seats and there was one very viscous guard that picked up an elderly man and slapped him, and a young girl was almost choked by a guard. When a nun was arrested and taken to the bus she walked on to the bus, and the police were thanking her for being such a nice lady, well when she saw what was going on in the bus, and because it would buy more time for the babies, she walked off the front of the bus and got underneath the bus, they finally dragged her out, and for that they put her in solitary confinement in jail.
When we were arrested we, men and women were taken to a gymnasium at the Police Academy, where we were booked, and some of the churches sent in food for us. We all sat, and layed around on the floor there for hours, and we began to sing, I don't believe there is a choir in the world that sounded better than these prisoners for Christ. There was a blind man sitting next to me on the floor and as we sang he signed the song, it was beautiful. Later the ladies were transported to the real jail and put into another gymnasium. I thought it was pretty unique that we were moved from one gym to another, and concluded that we were athletes for the Lord who could leap over six feet high walls.
There was a Federal judge in Wichita, his name was Patrick Kelley, and he was trying to impose really harsh and unusual sentences on our people. And the Lord showed me in His Word, Ruth 1:1 Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. Well as it turned out, President Bush sent out someone from the Justice Dept. and told this judge that as a Federal judge he had no jurisdiction.
I was in jail two weeks, and while in there I got a glimpse of a news cast on t.v., and there was one of my friends from Florida leaping over the six foot high wall, I mean she was literally air borne. Then there was the "Hope for the Heartland" rally, where many renowned speakers came, and at least 25,000 people. There was a parade of some three hundred tractors from the rural heartland that displayed pro-life signs. This was truly a "Summer of Mercy"
While in the jail-gym, the ladies were treated very well, and the food was decent. We sang and prayed alot, and shared testimonies. There was one lady who had a brain tumor five years before and she would get terribly confused, and could hardly even stand up, and the Lord healed her. There was another lady who worked at a Christian radio station, another was from Washington, D.C. When we had to use the restroom we had to call a guard and they had to take us across the hall to a cellblock, and that is where they had the nun in solitary confinement, and I talked to her thru her door when I would have to go over there.
Then there were only nine of us left in the gym, so they moved us to regular jail cells with, regular inmates. I was fortunate I got a cell all to myself. But during the day time, and before lights out, and lock down at night we were able to mingle and minister to the regular inmates. One evening I was sharing about abortion, and this younger woman was there, so I asked her what she was in there for, and she said she coudn't tell me, I told her that Jesus forgives and heals. Well she finally confided in me and I held her in my arms as she wept, she told me she was in there for abusing her children.
Well my day in court finally came after two weeks, and I bonded out because some of the ladies that had come to Wichita with me needed to get home.
I have to say that the devil must be really mad that God's got an army marching across this land. Because it seems like he has loosed all his demonic forces and they are right out there in the streets, and in our face. You have never seen in the media some of the things I am about to describe. The media always trys to make
Rescuers look like terrorists, but I want to tell you the truth is that real terror is looking in the face of demon possessed,
Godless young people, with ear rings in their noses, guys with earrings, beating on drums, spitting on us, yelling we are here and we are queer, get used to it.
There is a spirit of murder and death raging across our nation.
While Rescuers crawl on their hands and knees to the very gates of hell.
