IF THERE WAS A KINGDOM
If there was a Kingdom where the King was a friend,
Who humbled himself to walk among men,
To handpick his rulers, and this with much care,
With hours of searching, and long nights in prayers,
From seasides and prisons and those in despair,
Who knew they would rule with the greatest of care.
If there was a kingdom with laws so divine,
It uplifted the morals of your life and mine,
That gave us such hope and incentive to live,
To learn all it's laws and obedience give,
To mold us and change us with such patience and love,
To obey from our hearts, all these laws from above.
If there was a Kingdom with laws so divine,
He'd give gifts in men, to help all He'd find,
If we through our weakness would tread the wrong way,
They'd gently remind us on His path to stay,
And if we His laws broke, then these "Gifts in Men"
Would reprove us and show us the way back again.
If there was Kingdom whose King loved us all,
No one would go hungry, there'd be plenty for all,
No rich ones or poor ones, nor injustice to men,
For there in His Kingdom all would be he friends,
Each one would be equal al love He'd impart,
When taught His divine law, they'd love from the heart.
If there was a Kingdom whose King had the power,
To destroy all our pain and sickness devour,
To lead us so gently from death's waiting door,
And uplift His subjects to die never more,
And even our loved ones asleep in the grave,
Even for them would provisions be made.
If there was a Kingdom with a King so superior,
Would you pledge allegiance to one that's inferior?
Would you choose a kingdom where all men are dying,
That steal from each other, with killing and lying?
Where pain wracks the body and depression the mind,
With nothing to live for, no peace could you find.
Or, would you respond to God's choice for the earth?
In each land and nation you'll hear of It's birth,
Where myriads of brothers are all joining hands,
To help those who want to obey his commands,
To give our allegiance to a Kingdom that's worth,
Our loyal devotion forever on earth.
