Place in Romania's Transylvania (Erdély), South of Maros-vásár-hely (Tirgu Mures) Ciba (1601): Chybafalva MnyTK 74. sz 10; 1964: Csiba name change in first instance Csaba variation explainable. Combination of Csiba [1225 Ciba CDES. 1:226] personal name csz. [1476: Thomas Chyba : OklSz. 126] and the noun falu . The Roman Ciba originates from the Hungarian Csiba.
