PEACH UPSIDE DOWN CAKE

3 tbsp butter
1/2 cup brown sugar or more
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups oil
ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
5 eggs, whole
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup water
2 3/4 cups flour
3 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 box lemon cake mix

Preheat oven at 375 F.
Melt butter and pour equally into two 10" pans.
Spread brown sugar on bottom of pans, then arrange peach slices radially.
Beat together sugar and oil at speed 10 of Mixmaster. Add eggs one at a time.
Reduce speed to 3 and add milk, water, flour, lemon cake mix and when well mixed, baking powder and baking soda.
Pour into the two pans.
Bake at 375 F for 45 minutes. Reduce temperature to 325 F and bake for 15 minutes longer.
Remove from pans onto grates after 10-15 minutes.
